I normally wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 and I bought this shoe in an 8 1/2. It fits pretty well in the foot area, but is a bit tight in the calf. I might just have big calves because this is a common problem that I have with boots. The boots are mostly comfortable, but after a while it feels like walking on blocks of wood. It's a problem that can be easily fixed with inserts.
